Treaty 8 Livelihood and Land Use Planning
Our work is grounded in the true spirit and intent of Treaty No. 8 and guided by the voices of Elders, land users, and community members across Treaty 8 territory in Alberta. We are committed to advancing Indigenous-led solutions that honour traditional knowledge, protect the environment, and uphold Treaty Rights.
Through initiatives such as the Climate Change Strategy, Moose Study, and Caribou Action Plan, we work collaboratively to protect the land, water, and wildlife that are vital to the well-being, identity, and cultural continuity of our Nations.

Treaty 8 First Nations work reaches from the local to the global. From engaging with the United Nations on water rights to leading the development of the KeeTasKeeNow Nahendeh Pimatisihowin framework, we are helping shape a future where Indigenous knowledge systems guide sustainable land use, environmental stewardship, and climate resilience.
By building strong partnerships, supporting community engagement, and advocating for our Nations, we are creating pathways to self-determination and responsible stewardship across Treaty 8 territory.
