Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta operates as a political and administrative assembly where our member Nations from across Treaty 8 territory come together to guide collective decision-making grounded in First Nations cultural practices and in the true Spirit and Intent of Treaty No. 8.
Treaty No. 8 was signed on June 21, 1899, between First Nations and the Imperial Crown. It is the largest treaty of its kind by land mass, encompassing approximately 841,487 square kilometres across what is now the entirety of northern Alberta, northwest Saskatchewan, and significant parts of the Northwest Territories and British Columbia.
