Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta Announces New Deputy Grand Chief
January 06, 2026 – Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta is pleased to announce the appointment of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Chief Sheldon Sunshine as our new Deputy Grand Chief, effective December 16, 2025.
Chief Sunshine brings many years of First Nations leadership experience to his new role as Deputy Grand Chief, where he will support Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta in advancing and implementing our goals and objectives.
